Frequent Ask Questions
Where are we located ?
| Our name is “Bali Palms” and we are located in the Tabanan Regency in West Bali. We are hidden away from the bustling tourist scene, about 2 ½ hours from the International Airport |
What do we offer ?
|
We believe “Bali Palms” is the preferred destination for what are often called “Retreats” or “Escapes” in Bali. We set out to create a friendly “Home away from Home” atmosphere. We are not a typical “hotel” – and due to our unique location – if you are looking for a party atmosphere this is probably not the place for you. We offer a number of pre-packaged options for your getaway, each catering to different personal needs. Each package comes with accommodation, transport and all meals, along with selected activities – that can be added to as you wish. Please note the base packages cannot be changed at this time. Our website has details of additional activities you may wish to add to your package in advance, or these can be arranged at the property depending on availability. The website also has a brief description and the duration of each. Any questions, please feel free to contact us by email anytime at [email protected]. Our vision is to be recognized as Bali’s premier wellness retreat—where personalized service, unmatched jungle serenity, and exclusive cultural experiences create a one-of-a-kind experience. |
What Makes Our Team Special?
|
Most of our staff are local, and are eager to learn and provide a unique hospitality experience. Some will speak a little English, and we have found that communication is generally not a problem. Supporting the local community is one of our main priorities. |
How Do You Get Here?
| As mentioned above, we are situated about a 2 1/2 hour drive from the airport, it can be a little less “depending on traffic” of course – which is a phrase you will hear many times in Indonesia! We highly recommend asking us to arrange a car to pick you up and drop you off afterwards (so you don’t get lost!). All our package options include complimentary car transportation to and from your destinations in Bali (within a 50 km radius). We are situated in the foothills of the Mount Batukaru mountain, and the property itself has small inclining steps to/from our cabins. Sadly at the moment we are not “wheelchair friendly”, but we will of course offer assistance where we can. |
What Makes Dining at Bali Palms Special?
| The focal points of the property tend to be the pool and the restaurant, although you are welcome to (and most do) stroll around to see our beautiful flora and fauna, gardens, ponds, rivers and small waterfalls etc. Please note that our meals consist of set menus daily, using where possible fresh ingredients from our property and local markets, although for an additional charge we try to offer some alternatives, depending on the season. Please advise us in advance should you have any dietary restrictions. Overall we try to be as in touch with nature as we can. “Eco-friendly” is an often over-used expression, however we do use fresh fish, eggs and other produce raised on our property where we can. We have a complimentary self-service area at all times for water, tea, Balinese coffee, selected fruits etc.- with freshly brewed coffee, along with canned sodas, available on demand at an additional charge. Basic alcoholic beverages are also available by request. In our restaurant we have plenty of space should you wish to relax with books, games, enjoy a game of Pool or simply unwind with friends. |
Can you accommodate specific dietary restrictions or allergies ?
| Absolutely. Providing healthy, delicious, and safe meals is a cornerstone of the Bali Palms experience. Our kitchen team is dedicated to catering to most common dietary needs. Please be sure to inform us of any requirements (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, nut allergies, etc.) on your booking form. We will coordinate with our chefs to ensure your customized, full-board menu is prepared safely and deliciously throughout your stay. |
How Is Our Retreat Space Designed?
| The best descriptions are found on our website or from guest comments, however in summary we have 11 private cabins (9 king, 2 twin) each situated with views of our gardens, along with many ponds and a small river/waterfall at the bottom of the property. Internet (we have our own generator in case of outages) along with other services, is freely available. Small gazebos are strategically positioned around the property for relaxing, reading or even an outdoor massage. We do have extra single beds if required, although the recommended occupancy is 2 people per cabin (max 3). Given our size (over 5 acres) we are able to provide a unique location for special events such as weddings, corporate events, and group gatherings. With enough friends you can fill the entire property, for added privacy and personalization. Please note that we have no TV’s, and there is generally a quiet period from 9pm until morning for the benefit of our guests and our local neighbours. Loud music/noise is not allowed later than 10pm, again out of respect for our surroundings. |

How is the weather there?

Year-round: Expect warm temperatures, typically ranging from 24 C to 30 C. During the wet season, expect higher humidity and frequent, short, heavy rain showers, often in the afternoon or evening, which keep the jungle vibrant. Note: We recommend checking the 10-day forecast closer to your travel date, but always pack for warm, humid weather. |

For Activities: Lightweight, breathable activewear for daily yoga and meditation. Comfortable trainers or walking shoes for nature walks and excursions like the rice field/waterfall trek. For Leisure: Swimsuits for the pool and waterfall, comfortable sandals or flip-flops, and light, casual clothing (shorts, dresses, skirts) for dining and relaxing. How does our pricing works ?
|
We get this question a lot, and we know it can be confusing at first. Rest assured we will make sure you get the best pricing for what we offer. Like many places, you will find us on some online sites, however we can guarantee you the best prices are always available on our website www.balipalms.com in the form of packages. Often the most economical approach, if you wish to create your own itinerary is to select our basic “Experience” package, and add other activities and/or nights afterwards. Most of our core packages have flexible time periods from 4 days/3 nights to 7 days/6nights we can add extra nights as we are aware many of you are travelling a long way and need to co-ordinate with flight schedules The package price is essentially created using a standard per night price based on 1 cabin (1-2 pax per cabin), and selected activities depending on the package. This is then discounted to ensure we offer you the best possible value. Should you wish to stay longer, or add additional activities, these will be at the regular guest price, please note you will still benefit as the base package is lower than otherwise could be arranged. The price of additional nights and activities can be found on our website, they are subject to change – however are always fixed at the time of your booking. |
What should You know before booking?
| To ensure we can best accommodate your needs, given our exclusivity, we have the following conditions (note: on-line providers may have their own rules) Bookings though our site (www.balipalms.com) : – securing a booking requires a minimum deposit of approximately 30% of the package price, with the balance normally payable on arrival – Any payments are 100% refundable if you need to cancel up to 30 days before arrival – for “no-shows” and any cancellations up to 30 days before arrival, advance payments will be non-refundable. – additional confirmed “pre-booked” activities are included as part of the package price – those added on-site are charged at the property. |
Should I bring cash, and are credit cards accepted at the resort?
| While the deposit of your retreat is prepaid, you may need local currency for the balance. extra services, excursions, or tipping. Cash: We recommend bringing some Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) for small purchases in local villages or for any non-included expenses. Credit Cards: We accept major credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) for settling any final resort charges (e.g., extra spa treatments, beverages, or retreat shop purchases). ATMs: Please note that there are no ATMs nearby, so it is best to withdraw cash at the airport or in the major towns before your transfer. |
What happens if I need to change my plans or to cancel my trip ?
| We know that life happens! To give you peace of mind when booking your retreat getaway, we offer the following: – 30+ Days Before Arrival: You will receive a 100% refund of any payments made. – Within 30 Days of Arrival: The 30% deposit becomes non-refundable. How will I receive my refund?
| We’ll send your money right back to you! For your security, refunds are automatically processed back to the original payment method you used (like your Credit Card, PayPal, or Bank Transfer).
